Finally!

Just got off the phone with the kind folks at the NRA...my final certification just went through and I will be teaching the Refuse to Be A Victim Seminar in just a couple of weeks.  My plan is to take my Pistol Instructors next and be teaching women in this by the summer.  You know what they say about a second income stream!

On the home front we have all been suffering from the Mountain Cedar  allergies here.  Hubby snored so loud last night that I sent him downstairs to the couch!

Our home school group took a tour on Tuesday of a local bakery...They were awesome and my little men really enjoyed the bag of donuts and honeybuns they got at the end of the tour.  Mom liked the three loaves of bread we got!

A cold front has blown in here and I'm off to dish up some Texas Red...that's Chili to you out of towners!

  1. Keep me informed on the seminar and pistol class. I've been trying to get my CHL FOREVER. But between nursing a baby (finally done for a year now!) and building a house, time and money have been in short supply.

  3. Marie, that's wonderful. I wish I lived close enough to take your class.
Hope the allergies clear up soon.

    Blessings,

  4. Congratulations on your certification, it will be great to be teaching other women, women teaching women just gives something different to learning from men. Maybe I just like the women supporting other women thing.

It is good to read about women and firearms, I only know one other woman who used to have a firearms license and she no longer has it. It isn't the done thing here and I actually don't tell anyone I have a license or that we have firearms. Even our 14 year old son doesn't talk about it with other people as most wouldn't get it.

We go to the range together and there are only two other women there, but at least they are there.

You won't see any posts on my blog about firearms so I just come over here to read yours and get cyber support from reading about your experiences :)

Also, don't suppose you could post your chilli recipe, I am sure we don't do chilli properly here :D

  6. Congrats on getting your certificate, helping women be able to defend themselves is a great thing to be doing, its not always a safe world.
